Recall, in December 2018, Seyitan accused D’banj of raping her at Glee Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos. He came out after a model scout called D’banj for raping his (Seyitan’s) female mate, though he had not identified her. Also, the former manager of D’banj said Seyitan had called him in December 2018 one morning to say that D’banj had got the key to her hotel room and was raped.
Seyitan filed a suit through her lawyers, demanding that the singer apologize.
D’banj denied the allegation and sued Seyitan for defamation. He demanded N100 million Naira as compensation
D’banj was later accused of using his power to threaten and detain Seyitan after her family / attorneys couldn’t contact her. While she could not be reached, a tweet was sent out to promote D’banj’s new song via her Twitter page. Another tweet was also sent saying she wanted to leave it all behind and move on.
Seyitan later issued a statement saying she had been detained and threatened by the people of D’banj and they had taken control of her social media account. She also said she was standing by her statement that the singer raped her (read here). D’banj responded by suing her again for N1.5 billion, this time.
