Feminist and businesswoman, Rasheeda Adams has descended heavily on the Director of Communication for governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) Yaw Buaben Asamoa, describing him as an “idiot” following his comment that the choice of Prof Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang as John Mahama’s running mate means the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) takes Ghanaians for granted.
Yaw Buaben Asamoa who is also MP for Adenta had made the comment with the explanation that given her track record, her being chosen as vice presidential candidate showed that the NDC did not take Ghanaians seriously.
But his comment, which was made at a press conference after the confirmation of Prof Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang as running mate upset several feminists on social media, who attributed his comment to the fact of her being female and took him on.
Meanwhile some communicators of the governing NPP have since been giving reasons why Prof Opoku Agyemang deserves no chance to become vice president. Their criticism has been mainly on her performance as Minister of Education, which they have described as poor.
