“I’m not a Ugandan,” Zari Hassan reveals

South Africa based Ugandan socialite Zari Hassan has revealed in an Instagram post that she is not originally Ugandan but a mixture of Rwandan, Indian and Somali Blood.

“In today’s world where everyone wears a mask, it’s a privilege to see a soul. India+Burundi+Uganda+Somalia but born and bred African” she posted

According to available data, the socialite was born to Ugandan parents Mr Nasur Hassan and Mrs Halimah Hassan however her mother was born in Jinja, Uganda to an Indian father and Ugandan mother which explains her Indian blood.


There is no information explaining how she got Burundi and Somali blood.

The Socialite was born and raised in Uganda until when she left for UK where she live a poor life working as a housemaid. This was after her father abandoned them with their mom.

“My dad had left, my mom was doing tailor jobs day and night I couldn’t stand seeing her struggle. I couldn’t stand her pain. I was living with my aunt in the UK who treated me like a step child. Gooosh Been through boutiques, long economy flights to china in between building a school and having babies.


“My music and tv career is a story for another day. Phew  All I’m saying, consistency is key. Doesn’t matter where you are or what you do. Just do it,” shared Zari Hassan
