Ghana Policeman kills Nigerian at Buduburam || A Nigerian residing at Buduburam in the Central Region, Walter Billions, has been shot to death by a police officer Saturday dawn.
According to the Kasoa District Commander, Superintendent Samuel Odame, the cutlass-wielding Walter Billions was shot after threatening to harm some police officers who had gone to restore calm after he went berserk brandishing the cutlass.
“Apparently when the patrol team got there the first police officer who got down was chased but for God intervention, he would have been killed by this person. So the team had to use force to prevent any unfortunate incident and unfortunately what happened is what you’re aware of,” Superintendent Samuel Odame told Joy FM.
“The attempt was to disable him and not to kill him…because there’s going to be post mortem I don’t want to say things that will prejudice the post mortem examinations,” Supt Odame added.
The wife of the deceased has accused the police of deliberately killing him, but the Police Commander has strongly rejected that accusation.
“That will be unfortunate, we’ve been able to speak with his wife who said the incident started right with her when the gentleman alleged that something was pursuing and therefore picked this cutlass and left home to attack whatever was pursuing him.”
