Four Zimbabwean entrepreneurs have launched an exciting new platform, Shoutouts Africa, which connects fans with their favourite musicians and celebrities. The game-changing platform also allows artists and celebrities to generate more revenues.
ShoutOuts Afra is the brainchild of the Chikomba brothers Andrew and Martin, Hilary Mutake of Punchline Entertainment and music producer Mr Kamera. All four of the co-founders have extensive experience in the music and entertainment industry.
Andrew is a serial entrepreneur, business consultant and the founder of Gemwitts Enterprises, a local technology company. Martin, who is professionally known as Solyd the Plug, is a record producer, music business consultant and one of the founders of Mashroom Media. Hilary Mutake is the CEO of Punchline Entertainment and one of the leading promoters in the Zimbabwe music industry. Mr Kamera is a decorated music producer who has worked with some of the biggest names on the continent who include Ice Prince, Victoria Kimani, Burna Boy, Cassper Nyovest, AKA and Yemi Alade, just to name a few.
Shoutouts Africa allows fans to receive personalised video messages from their favourite celebrities and socialites.
Think of it this way, suppose your child or significant other is a major fan of a celebrity such as Sandra Ndebele, who has been rocking social media of late, for their birthday, you can have Sandra Ndebele send them a personalized happy birthday message via video to make their day.
Shoutout Africa makes this process really simple. Even better, the platform makes it easy to arrange personalised appearances, birthday surprises and roasts if you so desire.
We talked to the quartet behind this unique project and they said that the main objective of ShoutOuts Africa is to create a connection between celebrities and their fans and to improve artists’ online presence.
They also anticipate that the project will be a game-changer which will boost music sales for artists on digital and audio music stores.
The platform has been softly launched and is yet to be widely publicised. It boasts an impressive catalogue of local celebrities who have signed up for the service. Some of the local stars include Sandra Ndebele, ExQ, DJ Moxinator, DJ Tamuka and Tamy Moyo just to name a few.
Although the platform is currently confined to local celebrities, the creators of ShoutOuts Africa are confident that the platform will expand across the whole continent once fully launched and running, hence the name ShoutOuts Africa.
