Vivacious comedienne Felistas “Mai Titi” Edwards is over the moon after landing a lead role in a Nigerian comedy series.
The Nigerian series dubbed “Sirbalo Comedy”, is a new series which will see Mai Titi collaborating with her counterparts in a West African setup as she navigates her way in the Nollywood jungle.
After being given a thumbs up by Nigerian producers, Mai Titi said she was humbled by the recognition she is receiving from other countries.
“They (Nigerian producers) have been watching me from my social media handles especially when I did my Covid-19 skits which attracted most Nigerians who shared on their social media platforms and they wanted to know more about me,” she said.
Due to Covid-19 lockdown travel restrictions, Mai TT said they will be using technology to record and edit the series.
“They shoot from their angle and I shoot from my angle and then they do the editing.”
Mai Titi is elated to have landed this role as it now makes her the first Zimbabwean comedienne to make great strides in Nollywood.
“This experience really means a lot to me as an actress and comedienne since it has opened new doors for me.”
She also encouraged other comedians and comediennes to work hard, think outside the box and also utilize this lockdown period to work on their craft so that they too can be recognized for their hard work.
Mai Titi added that, landing this role has inspired her to work even harder.
“It’s an amazing feeling to know that I’m also recognized in other countries. “It really means a lot,” she said.
